Flat tire, etc

Today I am grateful I made it through a super busy day. I woke up, cooked my lunch for work, decide for my Nanay whether to get a condo unit or not, treat positioning patients, write tons of paperworks, answer trainees' questions, listen to a webinar, participate in a documentation review, finish homehealth training, and then get a flat tire! But the great thing is that it rained the moment I drove off with the newly applied spare tire. Arriving home, I had to do my CPR course online as one of the requirements for HH. I feel all I did today is a week's worth of work! hahahahahaha Praise God!!!!! I didn't breakdown :D And I love the sound of rain outside...

New Job!

Today I am grateful my boss called me about doing home health for 12 weeks. It came just in time because work in the Skilled Nursing Facility was getting routine. With the HH setting, my time is flexible and there will be new learning involved. I hope this will be a great experience. I have my anxieties about it, but God is there :)

Wow Saturday

Today I am grateful for an awesome Saturday. I woke up early and enjoyed the cool morning listening to the birds while I was removing my clothes from the line. I had a nice breakfast at the patio, watching our neighbor mow his lawn while the dogs chase the cat out into the woods. I went to town and visited antique shops that made me so excited I could probably stay the whole day exploring the place! I went shopping at Belk and saved more than $200 worth of goodies. I bought Ralph Lauren baby clothes as gifts, and Levi's and jewelries for myself. I also got approved for the Belk credit card! My first ever cc since I arrived here in the US last November 2009. I am planning to get cc's to help build my credit score. Today gas price was also at $3.25.Plus with my 3cents discount using a Walmart card, this day was just full of savings! Then going to my friend's baby shower, I saw 2 rainbows in 2 separate locations. It was amazing! The party was fun because aside from eating all the Filipino food I could eat and chatting with friends I haven't seen for while, the guests were also given Mary Kay facial and make up samples. This has just been a very wonderful Saturday!

A Busy and Blessed Week

Today I am grateful for an eventful work week. Monday, I was the only OT in the facility and 2 new OT trainees came for their orientation day. Tuesday, we were getting busy preparing for our VP's visit to do the annual Quality Assurance Review. Wednesday, we were treated by our boss for lunch to do the Q&A part of the review. I got to answer three times. Then in the afternoon, she told me I will be starting Home Health soon. Today, I made it just in the nick of time for our team meeting! Whew! Even with a busy week, my blessings still abound.

A Week of Blessings

Today I am grateful my internet is working again, so that means I can go back to blogging. It seemed like there was some kind of virus/spyware/trojan/worm that infected my Mozilla Firefox. But when I opened it again today, I was able to open the yahoo page without any problem. It has been a blessing filled week, indeed! The nights when I couldn't go online, I spent more time reading.
To give a recap about my week, first my parents arrived safely from their tour around Cebu. During this vacation, they met a couple who used to belong to their household group in CFC. They were willing to go to another trip with my parents to HongKong/Macau. I'm excited for my parents going on holidays. I believe they deserve to just relax and travel. Second, I received a call from my boss telling me about a raise (Yeyy!) and if I was willing to try Home Health Therapy. I will still be staying in Douglas, so no hassle in having to pack up and leave. Third, me and my colleagues also watched Super 8. It wasn't really worth watching :/. We have also been going out for lunches, quite expensive but it's good bonding time. Then on Friday, I attended a play from a friend's church entitled Uncle Phil's Diner, where they served burgers and coke floats, with kids playing 50's music. It was fun! On Saturday, I went to the library to borrow books. Do you know that I pray to God to lead me to the right books? :) And it never fails, I always find a book that speaks to me. Then on Sunday after mass, I went to listen to a speaker talk about becoming like Jesus. And guess what book I got from the library? It was a Max Lucado book entitled Just Like Jesus! Then Sunday afternoon a friend called me and invited me to her baby shower next weekend. I'm so excited to go! And of course, Sunday was also Father's Day! I talked to my parents on the phone and greeted my Tatay, the greatest father in the world! It was truly a blessing filled week!

Foodie Weekend

Today I am grateful for a weekend full of food. :) Friday night I attended a post wedding celebration and had Filipino foods to my heart's content. We even had dried fish the morning after for breakfast! And I think it was the best food of the weekend! Then on Saturday afternoon, my neighbor had another pool party and their American bbq chicken straight from the grill was so yummy! And then today, right after Sunday mass, a Vietnamese couple invited me and my friends for a taste of Veitnamese noodles. A mix of culture and food, what a fabulous weekend! :)

For Pentecost Sunday:

"To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills." - 1Corinthians 12:7-11

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law" - Galatians 5:22-23

Laughter

Today I am grateful I laughed so hard about something that happened at work. I was co-treating a patient with a colleague when suddenly, she did something that cracked me up so bad we had to leave the room because we both couldn't help laughing. It feels so great to have that kind of laugh again.

Cliche but laughter is the best medicine.

Hulu.com

Today I am grateful for TV show freebies online. The reason why I haven't blogged yesterday was I got hooked watching tv series in hulu.com. Since I don't have my own TV and cable is too expensive and useless anyhow, this site is a great find!

Greater Weekend

Today I am grateful for a nice weekend. My friend came over to sleepover. We went to church together and had lunch at Pizza Hut afterwards. I had Chicken Alfredo which was so yummy! My husband sent a romantic message which just melted my heart. I chatted with my Nanay in the Philippines and she and Tatay are doing well. I miss them so much, though. So, those are my weekend highlights.

My pretty friend..see how small her face is? or do i have just a very big face?! :D
